Hey! It Was Free!

Well, it was that time of year again. No, not the holidays, but time to renew my wireless plan with Verizon. As I walked into the Verizon Wireless store yesterday I comtemplated whether to continue on with my two year agreement or switch to a one year. Well, in the walk from my car into the store I must have subconsciously made up my mind. What is it about walking into any electronics store that just makes my mind go beserk?

The really nice salesman at the door smiled and greeted me. He had to have seen the twinkle in my eye as my brain took in the smell of new phones. I couldn't sign in fast enough at the kiosk without clammering and mispelling my name in an effort to get to the phones. Then the salesman came over and ushered me back over to the sales desk to work out my plan. Little did he know I'd already worked it out. I'd chosen the green LG enV which to my chigrin turned out to be free! That's right, absolutely free! While I love those little gadgets I'm not particularly in love with dishing out the dough for them. I've had my plan with Verizon for years and every two years I get a $100 credit towards a new phone, provided I renew my two year contract with them, which I did. There's always a catch. That credit coupled with a $50 rebate Verizon was also offering made my $149 phone free. I could'nt have been happier. It will absolutely serve its purpose and yesterday "life was good".

The Event Planner of The Carolinas - SJB Weddings and Events

I met with a really wonderful wedding planner today. Her name is Shanika Butts of SJB Weddings and Events. She has been planning weddings here in NC since last year. I stumbled upon her blog a few weeks ago and was immediately impressed by the new and unique ideas she had for brides to incorporate into their weddings. I met her at Starbuck's and we had a lovely chat about our businesses and experiences. She was bursting with so many wonderful ideas that my head began to spin just listening to her.

The girl really knows her stuff!

One thing that I have always recommended to brides is that they hire a wedding planner to help them out as much as humanly possible. There are so many aspects to planning a wedding that some brides just may not realize how time consuming and complex it can be. A wedding planner, such as Shanika, can be the greatest of assets to any bride. So brides take that "S" off your chests and give Shanika a call. Also, be sure to check out her blog for lots of great ideas. You absolutely will not regret it!

Heather and Kyle

Heather and Kyle are just the sweetest couple you could ever meet. They exchanged vows last Saturday at Morning Star Chapel in Matthews followed by a small initmate reception at Matthews Theatre. Here's some previews from their day...

Are those groomsmen flagging down guests? Nope, just keeping the bride out of the groom's site. They kept with tradition and chose not to see each other before the wedding, right up until the very last minute.

Well, I decided to try and keep up with the Joneses and make our blog images a little larger. After a little tinkering around in here....TaDaaa!! I did it. Little accomplishments like this just make me so happy. Used one of my bridals from last year as the test image. Stay tuned for previews from Heather and Kyle's beautiful fall wedding shot this past Saturday.
